On Monday, May 18, 2020 at 1pm the Magnolia UMC Healthy Church Team met to discuss The
Bishop’s Back to In-Person Worship Workgroup Plan

How will we provide the Drive-In service
Our parking lot can allow for drive-in worship with observing an empty space on the right and left of every vehicle.
Bill & Ginger Brooks will provide a stage
Magnolia has a portable PA system that will be used
The location will be at the prayer garden cars will be facing away from the church
The Drive-In Worship Service will be Live-streamed on our Magnolia United Methodist Facebook Page
Drive-In Services are weather permitting
Coordinate with Law Enforcement
Law enforcement has been notified of Magnolia UMC conducting Drive-In Services
Secure Volunteers Parking Attendants
Volunteers are: Jerry McClenney, Bob Edwards, & Edgar Owens as needed. Traffic will be routed with one entrance on Wilroy Road and one exit onto Wilroy Road with signage place of Entrance Only and Exit Only placed at proper places. These persons will show the drivers where to park and make sure there are spaces on either side of all vehicles.
No Motorcyclists are allowed
Melissa Edwards has provided the necessary signage needed according to the Bishop’s Plan at vaumc.org/return/ and will be added to supplement what the church already has.
The church will remain locked during the entire Drive-In Service
Signage is posted on the doors before the Drive-In service.

Thru Email, One-Calls, Facebook posts, newsletter mailers, and the
Magnolia UMC website, All Persons Desiring to join the service will be
instructed of these plans given instructions to not exit their cars at any
time while on property.
There is to be NO:
No sitting on vehicles
No lawn chairs
No Blankets
NO PERSONS ARE ALLOWED OUTSIDE OF THEIR VEHICLES AT ANY
TIME EXCEPT FOR THE PASTOR, WORSHIP LEADER(s), SOLOISTS, AND
VOLUNTEERS & PARKING ATTENDANTS

ALL VOLUNTEERS/PARKING ATTENDANTS, WORSHIP LEADERS &
SOLOISTS, & PASTOR WILL FOLLOW THE SOCIAL DISTANCING
REQUIREMENT OF 6 FEET APART and wear face masks when can’t.
No Bulletins or handouts
Order of worship, bulletins, hymns, information, announcements, and rules will be delivered via Email, One Call, Facebook posts, the Magnolia website, and The Lighthouse Newsletter as needed.
When parking there will be a FULL PARKING SPACE on either side of the
every vehicle
ALL PARKING ATTENDANTS/VOLUNTEERS WILL MAKE SURE THERE IS A FULL PARKING SPACE OPEN ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT OF ALL VEHICLES
THERE WILL BE NO HAND DELIVERING, OR EXCHANGE OF ANY KIND
FROM A VOLUNTEER TO THE DRIVER OR VICE A VERSA
NO PAPER OF ANY KIND AND NO COLLECTIONS. Offerings can be dropped into a bucket as the patron exits the parking lot and the patron can not leave their vehicle.
ALL PERSONS WHO ARE SICK PLEASE STAY HOME
THESE PLANS AND RULES WILL BE ENFORCED. FOR THE SAKE OF DOING
NO HARM, DOING GOOD, AND STAYING IN LOVE WITH GOD AND LOVING
YOUR NEIGHBOR COMING ONTO MAGNOLIA PROPERTY FOR A DRIVE-IN
SERVICE IS YOUR ACT OF COVENANT ACCEPTANCE OF THESE RULES AND
THAT YOU WILL FOLLOW THEM. ALL PERSONS NOT FOLLOWING THEM
WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.
THESE RULES AND THIS PLAN AS STATED ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE
Added May 27th:
If you wish to attend our Drive-In Service, please notify the Pastor via cellphone (757-556-6597, you may text or call), church office (757-538-8552), or email (SheenaLaine@vaumc.org) by the Wednesday before the service so we can plan accordingly.
Must arrive no later than 10:15am so as not to disrupt the service and everyone can be in place by 10:30
Make sure to take your temperature the morning of the service before you come. It must be below 100.4 degrees. If you are feeling sick please stay home and get rest for your own safety and the safety of others. Call in with your prayer request and we will prayer with you and for you.
Only one entrance and one exit: Entrance from Wilroy Road between Parsonage and Church Building, in between the Welcome Banners. Exit only to the left of the mailbox onto the dirt path to Wilroy Road
Drive-In Services will be shown on Facebook Live-streamed.
Volunteers must wear masks while they are talking to patrons and keeping with the social distancing directive of 6 feet apart.
A sanitation station will be provided for all volunteers and parking attendants, must keep 6 feet apart.
Rules for Drive-In Service
Every vehicle, its driver and occupants, when they come on Magnolia UMC premises they are pledging to adhere to these rules and the Drive-In Service Plan and the Bishop’s Back to In-Person Worship Workgroup protocols and requirements
There is one entrance (Wilroy Road Driveway at the Parsonage) and one exit (dirt/gravel driveway) exiting onto Wilroy Road.
Follow all signage
No Bathrooms are available
The Church will remain locked thru the whole Drive-In Service. No Entry into the Church will be allowed or permitted no matter the case
No bulletins or handouts will be provided
No sitting on vehicles
No blankets or lawn chairs
No persons at any time will be allowed out of their vehicles. If you exit you will receive only one warning and if you still persist, the parking attendants/volunteers then you will force the person to leave the premises and you will not be allowed back. Your information (Name and any other info) will be taken down so you will not be allowed back until Stage 3
The only persons allowed outside of vehicles will be:
o The pastor
o Volunteers & Parking Attendants
o Worship Leader(s)
o Soloists
All persons attending to the service (Pastor, Worship Leader(s), Soloists, Volunteers, & Parking Attendants) will follow the social distancing requirement of 6 feet apart

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY TO BE NO HAND EXCHANGE OF ANY KIND BETWEEN PASTOR, VOLUNTEERS/PARKING ATTENDANTS OR PERSONS IN VEHICLES
